I wish to clarify a comment I made earlier in the Senate in response to Senator Wong.

You need to seek leave.

I seek leave to make a representation in the Senate.

Is leave granted?

I object. You have to ask in the right terms. This is the second time in five minutes Senator Boswell has fluffed the Senate procedure. We will assist him again: you can ask leave to make a statement or you can ask leave to make a personal explanation—not to clarify or give additional information.

I seek leave to make a statement.
Leave granted.
I wish to clarify a comment I made earlier in the Senate in response to Senator Wong. I have nine positions allocated to me in the Senate, as Leader of The Nationals. Five of those positions have been filled, not four as I indicated earlier.

It’s a disgrace! You’ve got more staff than the Leader of the Opposition up here!

Senator Ray, this is not a debate.
