I appreciate that it is now a quarter past eleven, but I need to finish off some comments that I made about an hour and a quarter ago in relation to my political sweep through regional and rural Victoria. I dealt with Corio, Corangamite and Ballarat but I did not have time to get to Bendigo. As I told the chamber earlier, Mr Peter Kennedy is the Liberal Party candidate in Bendigo. Peter Kennedy is a small business man who, with his wife, Jen, is bringing up school-age children and is a local man who knows what is needed to represent families in Bendigo, Maryborough, Castlemaine, Kyneton and surrounding districts. The current ALP member for Bendigo has unfortunately forgotten what is required of a member of parliament in regional and rural Victoria. Hard work, commitment and being a strong voice for your constituents are the three essential ingredients. Regrettably, all three have been missing for some time.
