Adoption of Report

Stephen Conroy (Victoria, Australian Labor Party, Deputy Leader of the Government in the Senate) Share this | Link to this | Hansard source
I move:
That the report from the committee be adopted.
Michael Ronaldson (Victoria, Liberal Party, Shadow Special Minister of State) Share this | Link to this | Hansard source
I move:
At the end of the motion, add “and the Senate refers the following matter to the Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Committee for inquiry and report by 22 August 2008:
The implementation, operation and administration of the legislation underpinning Carbon Sink Forests, and any related matter”.

I move an amendment to Senator Ronaldson’s proposed amendment:
At the end of the amendment, add:
- “and (b) that further consideration of the bill be an order of the day for the first sitting day after the day on which the committee reports”.
The effect of this amendment will simply be that further consideration of the bill be an order of the day for the first day of sitting after the day on which the committee reports. It simply means that this bill would come back on the first sitting day after the report of the committee has been furnished.

The question is that Senator Brown’s amendment to Senator Ronaldson’s proposed amendment be agreed to.
Question negatived.
