I table a statement relating to the order for the production of documents concerning the Education Services for Overseas Students Assurance Fund and seek leave to incorporate the statement in Hansard.

Statement to the Senate

The Senate has ordered that various documents relating to the ESOS Assurance Fund be tabled in the Senate by 12pm today.

The Order specifies several categories of documents and it may take some time to identify and assess those documents that fall within the terms of the Order.

It is also likely that a large volume of documents will be identified.

It is the Government intention to table documents as soon as they can be identified, collated and assessed. The Government will expedite the production of relevant information that it holds to the Senate.
