This petition of undersigned citizens of Australia calls on the Australian government to end the export of live animals from Australia to the Middle East.

Australia has strict laws to protect the welfare of animals - based on sound scientific research and community expectation. It is therefore ethically and morally

unacceptable to export Australian animals long distances to countries where they will endure practices and treatment that would be unacceptable or illegal in Australia.

We the undersigned therefore call on the Australian government to end this trade and in doing so restore Australia's reputation as a compassionate and ethical nation.
