I move:

That the Senate notes:

15 August 2015 marks the Seventieth Anniversary of Victory in the Pacific, on 15 August 1945.

1. This date marked the end of World War Two for Australia

2. The bravery and sacrifice of all those sailors, soldiers and aviators who served in The Pacific Theatre

3. The contribution made in support of the war effort by those at home;

And records our everlasting gratitude for their service to Australia, and for the support of our gallant allies, in this conflict.
