by leave—I move opposition amendments (1), (2) and (3) on sheet 7716 together:
(1) Clause 2, page 2 (table item 2), omit "Parts 1 to 3", substitute "Parts 1 and 3".
(2) Schedule 1, Part 2, page 4 (lines 1 to 19), to be opposed
(3) Schedule 1, item 34, page 11 (line 23) to page 12 (line 3), to be opposed.
I said earlier I would not speak again in this debate.
The TEMPORARY CHAIRMAN: I am going to put the question, on amendments (2) and (3), that part 2 and item 34 of schedule 1 stand as printed. All those in favour—
Mitch Fifield (Victoria, Liberal Party, Assistant Minister for Social Services) Share this | Link to this | Hansard source
No. We are united in our negativity.
The TEMPORARY CHAIRMAN: So the noes have it?
Rachel Siewert (WA, Australian Greens) Share this | Link to this | Hansard source
Sorry—could you just be really clear, and maybe Senator Moore could just articulate, very briefly, what the two amendments are that we are dealing with at the moment, please.
The TEMPORARY CHAIRMAN: Senator Siewert, we are moving (1), (2) and (3) together, but, because (2) and (3) are opposed, we have separated them out. So I put the question that part 2 and item 34 of schedule 1 stand as printed.
Question negatived.
The TEMPORARY CHAIRMAN: I now move that amendment (1) be agreed to.
Question agreed to.

My eyes are bleary—and not for reasons other than the hour, may I add!

They are not the only ones.

by leave—I move government amendments (1) to (5) together on sheet EF102 revised. And for those colleagues who might be wondering about the word 'revised', we are seeking to change a 'to' to an 'and' in one of the schedules to clause 2. I say that just so that no-one thinks there is any sharp practice happening.
The TEMPORARY CHAIRMAN: The question is that those amendments are now agreed to.
Question agreed to.
Bill, as amended, agreed to.
Bill reported with amendments; report adopted.
