The President has received letters requesting changes to the membership of certain committees. As there are now two nominations for one position on the Economics References Committee allocated to a minority group or Independent senators, in accordance with the standing orders a ballot will be held to determine which one of the two senators who have been nominated is to be appointed. I understand that it is the wish of the Senate that the ballot be held today after motions to take note of answers.
