( The President has received letters requesting changes in the membership of committees. I draw the Senate's attention to there being two nominations for the one position on the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters, and in accordance with standing orders a ballot will need to be held to determine which of the two senators who have been nominated is to be appointed. I understand that it is the wish of the Senate that the ballot be held on Tuesday, 13 September 2016 immediately prior to government business being called on.
