Order! The President has received letters requesting changes in the membership of committees and a letter from Senator Ludlam resigning his place on the Standing Committee of Privileges with effect from 9.30 am Thursday, 13 October 2016. There are two nominations for one position on the Standing Committee of Privileges, and in accordance with standing orders a ballot will need to be held to determine which one of the two senators who have nominated is to be appointed. I understand that it is the wish of the Senate that the ballot be held on Thursday, 13 October 2016 immediately before consideration of private senators' bills is called on.
