Schedule 1, item 1, page 3 (lines 15 and 16), omit “If requested by the Minister, the Commissioner may also provide advice to the Minister on matters relating to rural health reform.”, substitute “The Commissioner may also provide advice to the Minister on the development and distribution of the health workforce and on rural health reform.”.

Schedule 1, item 1, page 3 (line 23), at the end of section 79AA, add “The Minister must consider a year before this whether the office should be extended.”.

Schedule 1, item 1, page 3 (line 25), before “There”, insert “(1)”.

Schedule 1, item 1, page 4 (after line 2), at the end of section 79AB, add:

(2) The Minister must consider no later than 1 July 2019 whether the office of the Commissioner should be extended beyond 1 July 2020.

Schedule 1, item 1, page 4 (lines 9 and 10), omit paragraph 79AC(1)(c), substitute:

(c) providing advice to the Minister on the development and distribution of the rural health workforce and on matters relating to rural health reform.

Schedule 1, item 1, page 4 (after line 19), at the end of subsection 79AC(2), add:

; (d) consider advice of the Rural Health Stakeholder Roundtable and the rural health workforce distribution working group.
