I, and also on behalf of Senator Patrick, ask that general business notice of motion No. 828 be taken as a formal motion.

Is there any objection to this motion being taken as formal? Yes. Formality has been denied.

Pursuant to contingent notice, I move:
That so much of the standing orders be suspended as would prevent Senator Lambie moving a motion relating to the conduct of the business of this Senate, namely a motion to give precedence to general business notice of motion No. 828.

The question is that the standing orders be suspended, as moved by Senator Lambie, to enable debate of general business notice of motion No. 828.
