At the request of Senator Cash, I move:
That there be laid on the table by the Minister representing the Attorney-General, by no later than midday on 23 March 2023:
(a) briefing notes and file notes held by either the Attorney-General and/or his office and/or the Attorney-General's Department, as well as any correspondence between the Attorney-General and/or his office and the Attorney-General's Department in relation to the resignation of Mr Leo Hardiman PSM KC as Freedom of Information Commissioner, dated 5 March 2023;
(b) briefing notes and file notes held by either the Attorney-General and/or his office and/or the Attorney-General's Department, as well as any correspondence between the Attorney-General and/or his office and the Freedom of Information Commissioner and/or any correspondence between the Attorney-General's Department and the Freedom of Information Commissioner in relation to the Commissioner's resignation; and
(c) briefing notes and file notes held by either the Attorney-General and/or his office and/or the Attorney-General's Department, as well as any correspondence between the Attorney-General and/or his office and the Freedom of Information Commissioner and/or the Attorney-General's Department and the Freedom of Information Commissioner in relation to the Commissioner's resignation statement.

by leave—I move an amendment, as circulated, to the motion:
(1) Omit "23 March 2023", substitute "27 March 2023".
(2) After paragraph (c) add:
(d) briefing notes and file notes held by either the Attorney General and/or his office and/or the Attorney-General's Department, as well as any correspondence between the Attorney-General and/or his office and the Freedom of Information Commissioner and/or the Attorney-General's Department and the Freedom of Information Commissioner in relation to resourcing of the functions of the Freedom of Information Commissioner and/or backlog of FOI reviews.
