I do thank the member for Kennedy for his question. Like other Queensland members, particularly members from North Queensland, such as the member for Leichardt, the member for Capricornia, the member for Maranoa, the member for Flynn, the member for Herbert and the member for Dawson—there is an absolute litany of them; in fact, all of the North Queensland members put their hands up, please—all of them want to see the mining sector flourish, and all of them want to see infrastructure improve.

The residents of Maranoa will be pleased to know that the PM thinks they are North Queenslanders. Is this just an indication of the PM's total lack of understanding of direction or is it just a refection of the fact that if an Electorate is wealth producing it is naturally Katter country.

Unfortunately the "litany of North Queensland members" from the LNP will not stand up for their elkectorates and prefer kowtowing to East Sydney than worrying about railway lines.

Blackwater has a dual line Why are the mines of the Galilee Basin treated differently.

With the PM's geographical logic he could of course claim that Blackwater is part of the Galilee basin. If Birdsville has moved to North Queensland the wonder of dual tracks wandering in the direction of Galilee is not beyond the capacity of our PM.

The Galilee Basin, North Queensland and Birdsville are after all cut off from the rest of Australia when it rains and this litany of Major Party stooges tolerate their electorates own isolation.

Thanks Andrew and yes that's right.
I cannot understand what happened to the once great National party in Qld that rolled over and became the LNP, which is a subsidiary of the Liberal Party of Australia. The liberals with their born to rule attitude couldn't give a damm about North Queensland and for that matter any regional Queenslander.
When the Nats rolled over and lept into bed with the handful of Liberals up here it was all over for regional Qld. That is why that since happening we have seen the birth of some many alternative minor parties. From One Nation (of whom Tony fought so savagely), to the every principled and hard working Bob Katter to the now self serving and cashed up Clive Palmer.
