Defence Procurement

My question is to the Assistant Minister for Defence. Australian combat troops refuse to use the Austrian Steyr rifle; they use the American ArmaLite, which can be produced in Australia for half the price. At Anzac Day, soldiers marched in their socks since the soles had fallen off their Chinese boots. Australian ordnance and ammunition is manufactured mainly by a French owned company. The slouch hat is partly foreign. Will the government support Rossi and the Senate demand for a fall inquiry into procurement or remain free market, with the policy destroying Australia's manufacturing and gutting Australia's sinews of war?

No country should be a slave of another when it relates to defence. Good on you Bob keep up the good work and surely this nation can produce both boots and small arms manufactured here. (if we cant then this government should give it away)Stuart Robert is the typical Liberal who whose free market and globalist ideology are killing this country and placing it a risk and the lives and or health of our military personnel at risk.
Who can forget the demise of walkabout clothing when Senator Carr was the minister and oversaw the printing of Australian shoulder patches with the spelling of Australia with two LL's. Both the LNP and the ALP need a good kick where it hurts. Australian made uniforms, footwear and small arms is essential for Australia's security. Lets stop the embarrassment these two parties have caused our military over years.
