Before the order of the day is called on I would like to make a short statement. This is the first meeting of the committee since new procedures were put in place last Thursday. These procedures allow the committee to meet on Monday afternoon to allow further debate on committee reports presented earlier in the day. These procedures and a procedure to allow the chair to direct a disorderly member to leave the room have been introduced on a trial basis on the recommendation of the Procedure Committee.
