I have received letters from the honourable member for Wills and the honourable member for New England proposing that definite matters of public importance be submitted to the House for discussion today. As required by standing order 46(d) I have selected the matter which, in my opinion, is the most urgent and important; that is, that proposed by the honourable member for Wills, namely:
The Government’s negligence and incompetence in the $300 million wheat for weapons scandal that has cost Australian wheat farmers and Australia’s international trading reputation dearly.
I therefore call upon those members who approve of the proposed discussion to rise in their places.
More than the number of members required by the standing orders having risen in their places—
