I ask leave of the House to move a motion that the order of the day be referred to the Main Committee for debate.

We want to debate this issue. It is the biggest issue facing the country today. To send it off to the Main Committee for debate is totally inappropriate. This House is debating a luxury car tax and it is not prepared to debate the global financial crisis.
