I wish to make a personal explanation.

Does the member believe that she has been misrepresented?
Ms Catherine King (Ballarat, Australian Labor Party, Shadow Minister for Health) Share this | Link to this | Hansard source
I do. In question time today the Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development sought to claim that I had, after caretaker mode, signed off on funding for the Mackay junior soccer club. The facts are these: it is true that the previous government made a commitment in the 2010 election to fund the junior soccer club. I understand that there were significant issues with the project, and it took quite some time to negotiate contracts.

No. We are now going to argue. Just show where you are misrepresented.

So the department was undertaking contract negotiation—
Ms Catherine King (Ballarat, Australian Labor Party, Shadow Minister for Health) Share this | Link to this | Hansard source
Yes, of course. I was very keen to ensure the project went ahead and signed off on the project to make sure the funding flowed to ensure it was not cut.

Where was the misrepresentation? The member will resume her seat. If you wish to show where you are misrepresented, you must state what has been said and then you must show why it is wrong, not argue as to what you wanted to do or how you wanted to go about it. 'Was it or was it not signed after the caretaker period?' I guess is the answer.

I was just getting to that point. Thank you very much for your assistance.

Well, get there very quickly or you will resume your seat.

Thank you for your assistance, Madam Speaker. It was signed off prior to caretaker mode.
Warren Truss (Wide Bay, National Party, Leader of the Nationals) Share this | Link to this | Hansard source
Madam Speaker, I seek leave to table the letter from the Hon. Catherine King, and it is clearly dated 5 August 2013.
Mrs Bronwyn Bishop (Speaker) Share this | Link to this | Hansard source
I give the call to the Deputy Prime Minister, and of course he may table the document.
