I wish to correct a statement attributed to me in an article in The Australian on 13 June 2014 entitled 'Farmers to win from carbon fund'. The article attributes a quote to me that farmers will take a fixed sum or proportion of the $2.55 billion Emissions Reduction Fund. No such figure was given by me. I have spoken to the journalist, who acknowledged this was added during the editorial process. I do not blame the journalist in question. What I have said is that farmers have enormous scope to participate in CFI projects under the Emissions Reduction Fund and they will play a significant and critical role.
