I have to correct an assertion that Senator Muir has just made. He said that it would not be an offence to distribute misleading how-to-vote cards. It is an offence to distribute misleading how-to-vote cards; it will continue to be an offence to distribute misleading how-to-vote cards. That is exactly the prohibition and the penalties provided for in relation to any misleading and deceptive conduct in the context of casting a vote that is provided for in section 329 of the Commonwealth Electoral Act.
