I move:

That the Senate—

(a)

notes that:

(i)

20 March 2006 is the third anniversary of the invasion of Iraq by coalition forces,

(ii)

the suffering of the Iraqi people continues and there is no end in sight, and

(iii)

global opinion is that the Iraq war is a mistake; and

(b)

calls on the Government to withdraw Australian troops from Iraq immediately and implement a comprehensive aid program instead.
