by leave—I move the motion as amended:
That the Senate—
- (a)
- agrees that:
- (i)
- scientific evidence supports a link between human activity and climate change, and
- (ii)
- urgent action is required to reduce greenhouse gas emissions globally; and
- (b)
- notes that the Stern report suggests the costs to the economy and to the environment of inaction are significantly greater than the short-term cost of action.
