by leave—As I said yesterday, on 18 March the Prime Minister announced a number of changes to the ministry. The swearing-in took place earlier today. For the information of senators I table an updated list of the full ministry.

I want to take this opportunity to, first of all, formally congratulate the new ministers on their appointments. We did that in a bit of a hurry yesterday. Secondly, I seek leave to table the changed shadow ministry arrangements. The only effective change in the Senate is the promotion of Senator Joseph Ludwig to shadow Attorney-General, which leaves him only one good election away from every lawyer’s dream of being the Attorney-General in the parliament!
Leave granted.
