by leave—I would like to inform the Senate that there has been a change in arrangements with the National Party. As of an election this morning I am now Leader of the National Party in the Senate. I would like, right at the outset, to thank Senator Scullion for the way he has conducted himself and for the fact that we managed to keep this thing quiet and efficient. I would like to commend all of you for the words of encouragement that you have given me. I hope that between all of us we manage to do an exceptionally good job for this Senate and for our nation.
