by leave—Last week I provided the Senate with an update in relation to an inquiry into complaints related to Vice President Lawler of the Fair Work Commission. I advise the Senate that shortly before question time I received notification from the Office of the Official Secretary to the Governor-General indicating that His Excellency today received a letter from Mr Michael Lawler resigning as a presidential member of the Fair Work Commission. Mr Lawler's resignation from the Fair Work Commission commences with immediate effect.
