I inform the Senate that I have received a letter from Senator Brandis resigning his place as a senator for the state of Queensland. Pursuant to the provisions of section 21 of the Constitution, I will shortly notify the Governor of Queensland of the vacancy in the representation of that state caused by the resignation. I table the resignation letter.
