I seek leave to make a short statement relating to the political party status of myself and Senator Patrick.

I wish to inform the Senate that on 6 April the Nick Xenophon Team passed a resolution to change its name forthwith to Centre Alliance. The Australian Electoral Commission has completed its initial consideration of the name change and has approved publication of the notice of application, which appeared in major newspapers yesterday.
