President, I seek leave to make a one-minute statement about my new status as an Independent.

I inform the Senate that yesterday I resigned as a member of the Australian Greens and will sit as an Independent senator for Victoria. I also inform the Senate that I should be designated as a whip for the purpose of standing order 24A relating to the selection of bills committee.
